Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively promote a positive Health & Safety culture and ensure adherence to policies
  • Generation of key electrical engineering deliverables including: equipment and MCC, UPS, HT and LT transformers, single line diagrams, control centre diagrams, general load power infrastructure, panel drawings, electrical load studies.
  • Technical expert for electrical discipline, providing electrical engineering designs
  • Input into key front end project deliverables such as concept selection & justification, basis of design and basis for estimate documents.
  • Liaise with the Project team, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure that the right systems are implemented.
  • Respond to project technical queries and scope change assessments within discipline for projects.
  • Own discipline specific change register and provide regular input to overall asset risk register.
  • Support development of CAPEX project scopes to maintain the electrical infrastructure on site.
  • Identify the appropriate application of Industry engineering codes, standards, practices and design guides for CAPEX projects (e.g. BS7671,
  • Liaise with vendors and respond to project technical queries, undergo technical reviews (technical bid analysis) of vendor proposals and contribute to the vender selection decision making process.
  • Respond to project technical queries and scope change assessments within discipline for projects.
  • Act as technical mentor where appropriate/required.
Role Proficiencies:
  • Engineering degree in relevant subject at MEng/BEng or MSc/BSc level (e.g. Electrical Engineering, electrical and electronic engineering)
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience working as an Electrical Engineer
  • Understanding of DSEAR / ATEX / IP15 regulations. Ideally CompEx EX12 Design or CompEx.
  • Experience with recognised industry standards (e.g. BS EN 61936, 60422, 7671, 60079-17, HSR 25 etc)
  • Project and commissioning experience
  • Familiarity of authorised electrical person / designated competent person working practices
  • Experience working with projects in high hazardous plants
  • An awareness / understanding of Machinery Safety
