Key Responsibilities:

Accurately code professional services (diagnoses, procedures, and modifiers) from medical records in hospital/clinic settings.
Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes with appropriate modifiers.
Ensure coding is performed in accordance with official guidelines and client-specific requirements.
Verify and abstract relevant data from medical records for multispecialty outpatient surgery centers and hospitals.
Stay updated with AMA, AHA, and CMS guidelines.

Role Proficiencies:

Technical Skills: Proficiency in medical coding systems: ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II. Familiarity with coding guidelines and conventions. Ability to use coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail for accurate code assignment. Ability to analyze medical records and extract pertinent information.
Communication Skills: Effective communication with healthcare providers for clarifications. Collaboration with team members to ensure coding accuracy and compliance.
