Key Responsibilities:
  • Team is looking for an experienced Lead IT Engineer - Virtualisation with 8 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • The role will primarily focus on Architecture of Virtualization Environment and provide L3/L4 Support for VMs and ESX Operations as follows..
  • This role is to analyze, design and plan architecture according to best practices, while ensuring high levels of data quality and availability, including analysis and integration of new customers and projects into the Architecture.
  • This individual is responsible for the design, specifications, sizing, development, and oversight of policies, standards and procedures to ensure a consistent architecture and management throughout the organization.
  • Check the health of all ESXi Hosts and VM objects in vCenter,
  • Troubleshoot and fix any hardware related issues,
  • Ensuring ESX Hosts in compliance with Host Profiles
  • Lead EFI Global IT Infrastructure Virtualization Team and manage/support Configuration Management tools across all the EFI locations
  • Extensive knowledge on VMware ESXi 6.7/7.0 Configuration, Management, Troubleshooting and Upgrade.
  • Knowledge on Switching, vLAN and NIC Teaming.
  • Proficiency in VMware Guests, Templates, P2V, Capacity Planner, vMotion, DRS, HA, FT etc.
  • Basic working knowledge of SAN/NAS
  • ESXi Patch administration and deployment.
  • Addressing SOC related vulnerabilities in timely fashion by installing security patches and bug fixes.
  • Experience in performance tuning of VMware servers and Virtual sessions and management of server resources between virtual machines.
  • Follow incident, problem, crisis, and change management processes
  • Analyzing VMware Licensing and ensuring compliance.
  • Preparing SOP/Runbook documents preparation for critical activities
  • Mentoring Junior members of the team for any technical issues.
  • Ensuring Virtualization related tickets (Requests/Incident) are closed within agreed SLA.
  • Providing detailed information for RCA to incidents related to Virtualization.
  • Candidate would be part of Global IT Infra Team and contribute towards all the Configuration Management related projects and operations.
Role Proficiencies:
  • 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in managing VMware Infrastructure. Atleast 2 years of hands-on experience in designing and architecting VMWare solutions.
  • Expertise in updating the Firmware to the latest version.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving ESXi/vCenter environment issues.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting Performance issues of vCenter, ESXi and VMs
  • Providing technical support and documenting VMware processes.
  • Handson and experience in VM Orchestration tools like vCloud Director or vCommander.
  • Technical understanding of Storage connectivity and protocols.
  • Knowledge on Linux OS is an added advantage.
  • Drive customer escalated issues to closure by providing workarounds and fixes in a timely manner.
  • Sound knowledge on TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Internet, Network topologies
  • Should be a team player with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage/handle Severity 1 tickets on priority and support On-Call 12X7
